Christmas Nails Round Up

I wanted to do a quick post of my recent Christmas nails. Since Christmas is sadly over I thought I'd just group them into one big post. All the polishes come from the China Glaze Naughty or Nice collection. This collection had the most amazing colors for Christmas!

Mrs. Claus - gorgeous light red base with silver and red glitter. Reminds me of candy canes! Almost looks pink and would also be good for Valentine's Day!

Frosty with Party Hearty layered on top - Frosty is a gorgeous shimmery white polish. Looks like sparkling snow! Party Hearty is a red, green, and gold glitter polish perfect for layering.

Mistletoe Kisses - a light green base with green and silver glitter. So pretty and such a unique color. I added a little water decal for some extra Christmas spirit.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

Barielle Elle's Spell

Here is a gorgeous red from Barielle's Holiday collection. Elle's Spell is a lovely red jelly loaded with tons of flakies! The flakies create this glowing ember effect, which is really pretty!

Close up of the flakies.

I graduated from college last week and this is what I wore! It matched my school colors and was festive for the Holidays! Really lovely polish!

Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

Today I have for you a lovely Christmas green from Orly's 2010 Holiday collection. Meet Me Under The Mistletoe is a deep green with flecks of green glitter. I can also spot the occasion glint of gold.

What really drew me to this polish is it reminded me a lot of the Cosmic FX collection. It's formula is very similar and even has the same duochrome feel. Love it!

MAC Jade Dragon

When I first saw Jade Dragon by MAC I was so excited. In the bottle it looks like a deep forrest green with tons of aqua shimmer. However, on the nail it's a bit of a disappointment. The shimmer is almost undetectable unless in direct light and even then it's subtle. It's still a lovely dark green polish though.

The polish went on nicely, but was a mess to remove. The skin around my nails was stained green! I usually don't have that problem, but with this it was major. Bottom line is this is a nice color, but I'm don't think it's worth the hassle.

OPI Ali's Big Break

I just love this time of the year because of all the beautiful Christmasy polishes around. Ali's Big Break by OPI is one of my favorite red's for the holidays. It's a bright candy apple red with tiny flecks of red sparkle.

What is your favorite Christmas red polish??

China Glaze Ingrid

Ingrid by China Glaze is a fabulous chocolate taupe. What makes it really unique is the hint of gold shimmer.

I love this color for the winter season because it reminds me so much of hot cocoa. The whole time I wore it I kept thinking how I wanted a warm mug of hot chocolate! Yummy!

Zoya Kym

Kym is from Zoya's recent Wicked collection. It's a coppery warm red with lots of sparkle!

I just adore this polish! It reminds me of changing leaves in the fall.

Inque Nails - Christmas Plaid

I first heard of Inque Nails from Katrina over at Katrina's Nail Blog. She did a review on the nail stickers and I decided to check out their site. I have tried these types of nail stickers before (i.e. Sephora/Minx collaboration) and they were OK. When I looked at the Inque website I was impressed how you could customize the size of the stickers to fit your nails and the image you put on them. Not only do they have stickers for your fingernails, but toenails as well!

However, what really sold me was the fact that they had a Hello Kitty set. I'm a huge HK lover and can never find any nail art stuff. Also, they were running a promotion for 5 sheets for $30, which is a great deal considering one sheet is priced at $15. So I went ahead and picked out 5.
The first of which I'm showing you is the Christmas Plaid!

They come on a sheet like this. 16 stickers per sheet. This is just the standard sizes, but you can get custom fit ones if you wish.

And here they are on the nail! Just in time for Christmas! They were really easy to apply and I didn't have any wrinkles or snags! I got so many compliments on these and I cannot wait to wear the next set I bought.

Check out the Inque website. They are still having the 5 for $30 deal or buy one get one free if you don't want 5. They have a ton of super cute designs, so check it out!

OPI Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow Suede

Today I have for you a lovely color for the Christmas Season! Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow is a forrest green with a suede finish.

I usually don't like matte polishes, but I really adore this one! The shimmer in it is just gorgeous! This is a great polish to throw on if you're in a rush because of it's quick dry time. Now as with most matte polishes you are going to see chips in 1-2 days, but because it's so pretty I can overlook that :)

Zoya Gloria

As you can see I've been wearing polishes from the Zoya Flame collection lately! Today I bring you Gloria.

When I first saw this polish in the bottle I was eh about it. However, once I put it on I fell in love!! Gloria is a gorgeous light cranberry red sparkle. It has hints of gold flecks in it and is a great color for the Holidays.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway! Tomorrow is the last day!

Zoya Crystal

Here is another beauty from the Zoya Flame Collection - Crystal.

Crystal is an icy blue with tons of gold sparkle. This is a really unique color. It reminds me of winter ice and snow, so it's perfect for the Holiday season. I highly recommend this whole collection. If you haven't gotten it yet, then put it on your Christmas list! It's a must have.

Misa Quirky Smile

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Unfortunately I have been sick with a stomach virus and can't do much of anything. I don't even have polish on my nails *gasp*! So this is a mani I did a few weeks ago using Misa's Quirky Smile

Quirky Smile is a shimmery teal leaning more on the green side. I added some gold Konad using Orly Luxe as my gold and stamped the fishnet design from plate m57. I then added some heart jewels for a little extra oomph.

China Glaze Yee-Haw!

One color I don't have much of in my collection is orange. So when I find a flattering and gorgeous orange I always love to grab it. Today I bring you China Glaze Yee-Haw! from their Rodeo Diva Collection (a beautiful collection worth checking out).

Yee-Haw! is a golden orange with golden microglitter. Such a pretty shade and a very unique one in my collection. This is also a great work appropriate color. It's subtle, yet gorge!

Falling Leaves Mani

Even though most of the country is feeling the winter weather, here in Texas it still feels like fall. On Thanksgiving the high was 79 degrees if that tells you anything! I love falling leaves and wanted to do a mani that incorporated that. Here's what I came up with!

I used When U Say My Name by Misa as my base. It's a rich chocolate brown shimmer. I love it!!! I then used some Fimo leaves and a flower to decorate my nails. Easy peasy!

Orly Pixie Dust

I thought with the Thanksgiving break I'd have more time to blog, but I've still been SO busy! Sorry for my absence. It's a hectic time of the year.

Today I have for you Orly Pixie Dust, a gorgeous light blue gray with silver shimmer. It's a very pretty, yet simple color. This is a must have for any collection!

Zoya Valerie

Ok, before I get to the polish I wanted to show you what my amazing boyfriend got me for my birthday. I'm a little late posting this since my birthday was in October, but I've just now had the chance to start wearing these and had to share!

He got me both the full Zoya Sparkle collection and Zoya Flame (aka Fire and Ice) collection!

Zoya Sparkle Collection

Zoya Flame Collection

Aren't they just gorgeous!! I can't wait to wear them all. Before I go on I also wanted to give a BIG shout out to my boyfriend James. He has been SO supportive of my blog and always spoils me with new polishes. I love him dearly and am very grateful to have him in my life.

Ok, time for the polish! Above is Zoya Valerie from the Flame collection. It's a dark plum purple with micro flecks of gold. It's super sparkly and beautiful! Stay tuned for more of these pretties :)

MAC Blues

I haven't posted any eye looks in a while and felt one was needed! This was a look I did using 3 blue eyeshadows from MAC.

Base - NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Baby Blue
Inner Corner thru Middle Eyelid - MAC Suave Intentions a frosty baby blue.
Outer Corner - MAC Bang On Blue a bright royal blue.
Crease/Lower Lash Line - MAC Contrast a deep navy blue.
Liner and Macara - Benefit Bad Gal.

Essie Chinchilly

Essie Chinchilly is a great mushroomy gray. It dries a little darker on the nail as you can see.

You know I gotta add some Konad! I stamped the zebra design using image plat m57. I used a shimmery black by Misa called Dying Love as my stamping polish. Finished with a coat of Seche Vite! I definitely recommend this color to anyone who loves the mushroom colored hues!

Milani Hi-Tech

Milani 3D Holographic polishes are amazing! Hi-Tech is a light green that flashes gold and many other bits of color.

This was my first Milani polish and it did not disappoint! I would definitely recommend trying it. I can't wait to try some of the other colors!

Orly Country Club Khaki + Konad

I love a great neutral polish and Orly's Country Club Khaki is definitely one of them. It's a gorgeous taupe creme. Simple yet oh so pretty.

I wanted to make this a little more interesting so I added some Konad. I stamped the image using plate m61. I used Misa's When U Say My Name as my dark brown. I love this color because it has a lovely shimmer to it. This mani makes me think of chocolate milk! Yummy!

Essie Playa Del Platinum

Time for a simple polish swatch! Essie Playa Del Platinum is a gorgeous greige (gray beige).

Now I've only seen pictures of Deborah Lippmann's Waking Up In Vegas, but I think Playa Del Platinum would be a very close dupe. It's one of the reasons I decided to purchase it! I'm really glad I did because it's a very chic shade.

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover Konad

As I sort through my stash I always find colors I haven't worn yet. China Glaze Four Leaf Clover is one of these. However, I'm very happy I decided to put it on because it's a gorgeous bright green.

This is a lovely classic green color. I decided to add a little Konad of course. I stamped the image using plate m61 and Konad special polish in mint green. The special polish almost looks yellow and creates a sort of lemon lime nail.

Color Club Uptown Girl

I've been so busy lately, I feel like I haven't been able to keep up with everything! So this will be a quick post! Here is Color Club's Uptown Girl. A very pretty dusty purple.

Natural Light

Indoor with flash.

For a little extra fun I decided to add some Konad. I used image plate m61 and Konad special white polish.

Bloody Nails

This is the final installment of my month of Halloween manis. October seriously flew by!
For my last mani I wanted to do something different. I love gory Halloween decorations and thought bloody nails would be a good idea!

I used OPI Alpine Snow as my white base. I also used China Glaze Salsa on my ring finger. I then stamped the dripping blood using Konad plate m13 with Konad red special polish. I also added some glow in the dark topcoat for a fun effect!
I hope everyone has an awesome Halloween! Don't eat too much candy ;-)

Eyeball Nails

Eye see you! Ok, enough of the cheesiness. This was a really simple, yet creepy manicure for Halloween.

I used China Glaze Oxygen as my base. Once it was dry I used OPI Obscurity to do the black pupil. Next I used LA Colors nail art polish in either blue or green to do the colored iris part. Finally, I used the same nail art polish in red to do the veins.
Happy Halloween!!

Purple and Green Halloween Mani

Yay, Halloween is only a few days away!!! I was feeling a little tired of the typical orange and black combo, so I decided to do another ghoulish combo - green and purple. I have also been thinking what I could use this bright lime green polish for, so this was perfect!

I wish I had a super easy and simple technique for this, but I don't. The easiest way for me was to freehand it. I tried using nail guides, but it just didn't look right. I started by swiping the green polish diagonally at the bottom of the nail. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Green With Envy. Then I swiped the purple across the top in the same way as I did the green, making sure to cover any bare nail. I used OPI Nevermore as my purple. In order to make the lines look smoother I used a nail art brush with black polish across where the green and purple meet. I finished with a cute spider decal for a little extra oomph.

Ghost Nails

In the spirit of Halloween, I wanted to do some spooky nails. I decided on something cute, easy, and simple - ghost nails!

I used OPI Alpine Snow as my base. Then for some extra fun I added some glow in the dark polish by Fantasy Makers on top. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the nails glowing, but my camera wouldn't pick them up :(
For the ghost face I used OPI Obscurity from the Go Goth Collection. Since the bottle and brush were mini, they were the perfect size to make little eyes and mouths.

Candy Corn Nails

I had to do the quintessential Halloween manicure - candy corn nails! This seems to be a favorite among the nail art community and I can see why. It's just SO cute.

I started with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow all over the nail. I then did the orange stripe using OPI Flit A Bit. Finally, I did the white tip using OPI Alpine Snow. I found it much easier to freehand the stripes than to try and use nail guides. Candy corn isn't perfect anyways! I really loved this manicure. People went gaga over it and I wanted to eat it :)

Halloween French Mani

I really wanted to do a Halloween themed french manicure. I decided to do an orange base with black tips and added a little nail art. I ended up doing two. I hated the first one and loved the second. Let's start with the bad!

I used Orly Old School Orange as my base. I then stamped the pumpkin from Konad plate m13 using Konad special black polish. I applied a layer of Konad top coat, but still got some streaks :( I then painted my tips with Obscurity by OPI. I thought the matte black would make a nice contrast against the glossy orange. However, the black went on thick and looked really chunky on my nail. *Sigh* It could have been so cute if perhaps I chose better behaved polishes!

Now for the good. I wore this all weekend and got SO many compliments. I used China Glaze Orange Marmalade as the base. I then painted the tips with OPI Unripened. I finished with a skull and cross bones decal. I love the shimmer in both of these polishes and thought they complimented each other nicely. These polishes went on smooth like buttah, so I was happy :) Super cute and easy!

Halloween Skulls

In keeping up with my Halloween only nails for the month, I decided to do another cute Konad!

The base is Unripened from the OPI Go Goth collection. I then stamped the cute skull design using Konad plate m13 and Konad special white polish. Super easy!

Philosophy Box of Truffles

This is a look I did using an eyeshadow palette from my favorite skin care line, Philosophy. The palette is called Box of Truffles and is a 4 piece set of browns.

1. Highlight - Latte a cream colored shadow.
2. Lid - Cocoa a shimmery warm brown.
3. Crease/Outer Corner/Lower lashes - Chocolate a deep brown.
4. Eyeliner - Pure Show by MAC from the Fabulous Felines collection. A gorgeous pure gold liquid liner.
5. Mascara - Bad Gal by Benefit

I really was pleased with this palette. I thought it wouldn't be too great since it's from a primarily skin care focused line. However, it turned out really pretty.
The gold liner from MAC is fabulous! Went on smooth and was just a great flash of gold!

China Glaze Mummy May I

Another polish from the China Glaze Awakening collection, Mummy May I. A dark purple jelly base with lots of hot pink glitter. Very pretty! From a distance it really looks more like a black base with fuschia glitter. The application was OK. The polish seemed to be thick and sticky. At times it was hard to get even strokes.

Sunlight

That night my boyfriend and I decided to go to a haunted house. I thought the spooky house decals would be perfect!

Close up of the decal!
